He's the hot ticket to replace John Galliano at Dior - and is even rumoured to be telling friends of the new post. But while the French label probably won't announce their new creative director until September, is it coincidence that Riccardo Tisci's designs have been popping up all over the red carpet?
Last night both Naomi Campbell and Courtney Love were pictured in Cannes wearing Givenchy gowns.
All white: Naomi Campbell, and Courtney Love both opted for Givenchy at the amfAR party last night and Penelope Cruz wore the label for the UK premier of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides last week"
Hot couture: Beyonce wore Givenchy for her video for her single Run The World (Girls), released this week"
Both Liv Tyler, who is the face of the label, and Mary-Kate Olsen wore his dresses to the Met Gala in New York earlier this month.
The Oscars in February saw Cate Blanchett's unusual Givenchy gown cause a stir just days after Galliano was suspended.
Industry darling: Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, second from right, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, left, veteran model Kristen McMenamy, Carine Roitfeld and Courtney last night in Cannes
Fanfare: Mary-Kate Olsen at the Met ball, Natalie Portman at the Independent Spirit Awards in February and Cate Blanchett at the Oscars all show their support in Tisci designs"
Despite Givenchy maintaining Tisci will remain where he is, news emerged earlier this week that Tisci has reportedly confirmed the news to friends.
Fashionista.com editor Laura Sherman wrote:'He's also openly discussing his move to Dior with certain acquaintances.
One to watch: Tisci with Liv Tyler, the face of Givenchy, at the Met ball in New York this month
New turn: Should Tisci take over at Dior, his Gothic designs will see the label go in a different direction"
'And while we still don't think the official Dior announcement will happen until September, we're pretty sure the deal is sealed.'
Disgraced: John Galliano's trial is due to commence on June 22nd"
And the good PR is exactly what Dior needs after the scandal surrounding Galliano.
At the helm of the label for ten years, he was dropped from both his own label and Dior following the release of video footage showing an anti-Semitic tirade at a Paris bar in December.
His trial is due to commence on June 22nd.
But just two days before the Oscars and four days ahead of Paris Fashion Week,Dior announced Galliano's suspension and eventually the decision to terminate his contract.
Since then, Dior's dresses have been stigmatised on the red carpet - even Kate Moss is reported to have changed her mind after deciding on a Galliano wedding dress.
But since Galliano's exit, the industry has been buzzing over who his replacement will be - Tisci is the name on everybody's lips.
And the ultimate seal of approval?
Even fashion industry king Karl Lagerfeld has his backing.
The Chanel creative director told W magazine: 'Well I’m not a consultant there, but I think Riccardo Tisci would be good, and then Haider Ackermann at Givenchy – not because they are friends of mine, but because they are good.'
