What were you thinking! Alexandra Burke leads fashion disasters at Glamour awards in tent-style dress which swamps her figure

She can usually be found showing off her figure in various revealing stage outfits.
But, at the Glamour Women of the Year awards this evening, Alexandra Burke appeared determined to cover up - so much so that she arrived at the event wearing a tent-like Dolce & Gabbana dress which completely swamped her slight frame.
The 22-year-old star's figure was completely hidden under the pink patterned dress, which left everything to the imagination.

However, former X Factor star Alexandra looked delighted with her outfit, tweeting fans a picture of herself getting ready before the awards.  

She later tweeted: 'James corden is one amazing host tonight @ the @GlamourMagUK awards !!! Love him!'
Alexandra flew in for the event from the U.S., where she has been temporarily living while recording her second album.

And Alexandra's life could be set to become even busier with news that she has been offered a prime role in a West End production.

The Broken Heels singer has been approached to play the lead role in the stage production of The Bodyguard.
Sources claim that Alexandra would play the character Rachel in the adaptation of the 1992 Hollywood film.

Alexandra wasn't the only star to miss the fashion mark at the Glamour awards, held at London's Berkeley Square Gardens.
Paloma Faith, renowned for her eccentric dress sense, opted for a Japanese-inspired black sheer dress, teamed with beige heels and a net headdress.
And Pixie Geldof also seemed to have gone down the oriental route, wearing a printed kaftan-style dress, which she accessorised with a gold bag and black sandals.

Better luck next year: Emily Maitlis' dress was too short, Jane Goldman covered up completely in head-to-toe black and Lorraine Kelly wore a sheer dress which did little for her figure

The 20-year-old socialite also teamed her outfit with dark black roots, which did little to improve her overall look.
Doctor Who star Karen Gillan went for the understated look in her beige top and denim skirt but ended up looking uninteresting on the red carpet, while BBC newsreader Emily Maitlis, 40, caused a stir with her overly short red dress.
Lorraine Kelly, in a sheer lace number, and Jane Goldman, in head-to-toe black also found their way onto the fashion disasters list.
