It's her sister, Princess Beatrice, who has been hitting the headlines with her shrinking figure in recent months.

But at Royal Ascot today, Princess Eugenie ensured all eyes were on her in the Royal Enclosure as she showed off her svelte figure in a tight red dress.

Eugenie teamed the £980 Alexander McQueen crepe wool cowl neck dress with a navy net fascinator and matching suede heels as she arrived for the fifth day of the races.

Ascot has been something of a fashion parade for Eugenie.

On day one, Eugenie stood out from the crowd in a turquoise lace dress as she arrived with sister Beatrice.

And, attending the Berkshire event yesterday, Beatrice went for a more demure look in navy polka dots and a beige jacket.

The stylish outfits Eugenie has sported over the past week are in sharp contrast to the now infamous look the princess wore to the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton in April.

Eugenie and Beatrice both attracted criticism for their unusual outfit choices, while Beatrice's Philip Treacy hat became famous for its own right and sold for a staggering £81,100 on eBay.

But today Beatrice was absent from the Ascot action as all eyes were on lady in red Eugenie.

As well as chatting to racers and guests in the winners' enclosure, Eugenie also presented winning jockey Ryan Moore with the award after his horse Maybe won the Chesham Stakes.

And, between her official duties at the races, Eugenie also spent time with her boyfriend Jack Brooksbank.

Also at the races today was Eugenie's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who looked chic in a summery blue jacket, dress and matching hat.

And other celebrities to attend day five of the races included Sir Cliff Richard and Cilla Black, who did their best to avoid the rain by sheltering under a huge umbrella.

In fact, the weather proved incredibly problematic for many of the guests who had dressed up for the occasion.

While many tried to make the best of the situation by hiding under umbrellas, some of the most fashion-conscious women even opted for blue covers to wear on their feet to ensure their shoes remained dry.

Ahead of the final day at the races, clerk of the course Chris Stickels said he was unsure how the wet conditions would affect the racing.

He said this morning: 'We've had seven millimetres of rain since racing yesterday and it's pretty soft all over. We are forecast heavy showers throughout the day.'
