A newlywed mother-of-two was stabbed by her husband, who killed her mother and knifed another woman before snatching a child, it has been claimed.
The suspect is understood to have still been holding the knife he used to kill his victims as he walked along the high street in Thame, Oxfordshire, holding the young boy in his arms.
A 21-year-old man was arrested by armed police in the Market Place almost 40 minutes later. It is understood officers seized a knife.
Two police officers stand guard outside the red-bricked house where the bodies of two women were found - believed to be mother and daughter;
This afternoon, the family's landlord, Mark Field, said the mother-of-two - believed to be the dead 28-year-old - had recently married a Turkish man.
He said he had moved in to the family home in the cul-de-sac Ireton Court with her mother, father and two young daughters - thought to be both under four.
The new bride's mother, named locally as Julie Sahin, 50, was also stabbed to death.
Mr Field said that Julie had asked his permission for her daughter's new husband to move into the house within the last month.
He said: 'I was their landlord, that's the house where I used to live and they have been there for about a year and a half.
Inquiry: A police officer stands at the entrance to Ireton Court while forensic officers comb the house for clues;
'There were three generations of a Turkish family - Julie and her husband, her daughter and the two young kids.
'Recently they asked permission because the daughter had just got married and could they move the husband in - he's Turkish as well.
'I've not met him.'
Mr Field visited the house today after seeing the story unfold on the news when he realised it was his property.
'I went there this morning in disbelief and found police there and it all cordoned off.
'I could not go inside but I saw where police had marked bloodstains on the doorstep.
'They moved the bodies out around lunchtime but there was still a lot of forensic work going on and I could not go in to see what state the house was in.'
A private ambulance leaves Ireton Court in Thame, Oxfordshire, where the two women were found dead ;
He said he had been told by police not to reveal the names of the stab victims to the press - and said he did not know the 19-year-old woman hospitalised after the attack.
Mr Field said that although he had spoken to Julie's daughter several times to say hello, he did not know her name or that of her new husband.
'I have been over there a couple of times to do some maintenance, there have always been lots of other people in the house - their girlfriends or relatives who would bring their kids around for tea or something.
'For the last year it was the five of them and only in the last month did the boyfriend move in.
'They were good tenants and from what I saw they seemed like nice people, I didn't have any trouble with them.
'No one in the street really knows them - no one knows anyone round there.'
The incident happened at the two-storey house shortly after 2am.
The incident took place in Thame in the early hours of Sunday morning;
The victims were certified dead at the scene and the 19-year-old was taken by ambulance to Oxford's John Radcliffe hospital.
Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Forensic investigators have sealed off the red-brick house and are looking for clues to the double murder.
One neighbour, who declined to be named, said: 'All the police have told us is that it's a major incident. Neighbours are saying it is a domestic.
'I don't know the people involved but Thame is a delightful town. It is a shock that something like this has happened here.
'I have lived here for 12 years and this is the first time that I have had a major incident in my street. I heard a helicopter flying overheard but I presumed there had been a car accident.
'It had its searchlight on and, thinking about it now, they must have been looking for someone. People haven't been allowed to take their cars out and that's all I know.'

Another neighbour, who also refused to be named, said: 'There have been police here standing about but I'm keeping well out of it.
'It's a very nice area and we have had no trouble in the time we have been living here.'
The inquiry is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Joe Kidman of the Thames Valley Police Serious Crime branch.
He said: 'We are in the early stages of our investigation. We have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
'At this time it appears that all parties are known to each other and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this case.'
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police confirmed that a man was detained at Abingdon Police Station on suspicion of murder.
'Police were called to a house in Ireton Court at 2.21am and discovered two women who had sustained fatal injuries,' he said.
'A third woman has been taken to hospital for treatment. Her condition is not considered to be life-threatening.
'A man was arrested by officers in Thame Market Place shortly after the incident on suspicion of murder and he has been taken to the police station for questioning.
'Nobody else is being sought for questioning at this time although the investigation is in its very early stages.'
A spokesman for the South Central Ambulance Service referred all inquiries to Thames Valley Police but confirmed that two ambulances, a first responder and an officer were sent to the scene.
The Oxfordshire coroner Nicholas Gardiner has been informed of the double murder and an inquest will be opened and adjourned.
