Good to see that the offshoring of IT jobs to India is paying off for them.

Perhaps NO BONUSES for RBS, Natwest and Ulster Bank Directors and staff will focus their minds on getting things right in the future. DON'T APOLOGISE - IMPROVE !!
I bank with NatWest and my salary should have showed on Saturday but didn't. A quick trip to my local branch and within 15 minutes I walked out with cash. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, having to work extra hours and probably bearing the brunt of peoples anger, for something which is absolutely out of their hands. Yes it is inconvenient and would be nice if I had savings to fall back on but I would like to actually praise the staff who have to deal with the public and not sitting at the end of a telephone or hiding in their offices.
With a house in Holland Park in London, a 350 acre estate in Oxfordshire, a chalet in a Swiss ski restort, and and massive fortine in cash, I can see that Hester is truly "sorry for the difficulties customers were facing". I hear the words but can't feel any sincerity in them.
My partner's employer banks with NW. Her wages should have been in last Friday and here we are at 10.15 Monday morning and still no sign of them. Fortunately we have a small buffer zone of savings, but I imagine that many don't have that luxury. That said, we'll be in trouble if it isn't sorted this week. There is no way that, given a proper IT management system, this should ever happen. Nothing should ever be run live until it's thoroughly tested. Plus there should be a back-up system too (more than one really considering the vast quantity of incredibly sensitive and important data that the system must hold). How stupid can a company get!
When asked whel will my wages show My branch responded with "when England win the football" Not amused
Well RBS/Nat West, Stephen Hester where is your Business Continuity?? It is inexcusable for a software upgrade to be carried out without a fullproof back-up in the event of failure. I hope heads will roll and you will consider giving your customers some form of goodwill payment for the excessive inconvenience you have caused us! Just saying sorry is not enough!
Huge profits over many years. Lack of investment in IT infrastructure, meant a software upgrade corrupted the system......companies with critical systems have back up systems to overcome this situation....The bank has only got itself to blame. How many customers are going to lose patience and move their account....oops hang on they cant even get money in let alone out.
