Husband has left us in Italy with no money'

MY husband has left me without a penny 2,500 miles from home.

My husband and I decided to sell up and move abroad to southern Italy seven years ago. He carried on working in financial services in London, came to spend Christmas with us here three years ago and we've never seen him since.
We're in our forties and have three great loving kids. He used to send us £300 a month as there are no jobs here but it was totally inadequate. I used to beg him for money as my daughters and I would be using rolled-up loo paper for our periods.
We buy whatever the locals are growing in their vineyards to eat and I work for the local commune, but we are stuck. I cannot sell our house without my husband as it's in both our names, and I have no idea where he is, except I know he is working as a plumber in south London.
All I want is to come home to England with our kids. Where can I find help?

Your children must feel so insecure and I can imagine the temptation to let off steam to them. Do try to hold back because they can't help the fact that they feel that 50 per cent of their identity comes from their father.
