The eyes of the world were on Britain tonight and she didn't let us down.
One of the most spectacular and entertaining concerts London has ever seen was staged as a Diamond Jubilee tribute to the Queen, with the country's favourite pop stars - knights and dames among them - and a host of international names putting on a stunning performance.
There were fireworks, laughs, Union Flags everywhere and barely a dry eye in the house as Prince Charles brought the curtain down on the night with a personal and very moving tribute to his mother, and his sick father.
The Queen had taken her seat in the royal box for her star-studded Diamond Jubilee concert, but was without the Duke of Edinburgh who has been taken to hospital with a bladder infection.
The drama threatened to overshadow the concert, but Queen Elizabeth drew on the experience of all her 60 years on the throne to see it through - and what a show she was rewarded with.

Performers from the present generation also appeared on stage - Will.i.am Jessie J, JLS and Ed Sheeran.

see as the concert draws to a close and royals take to the stage"
It appeared that Cheryl impressed Prince Harry and Prince William who were seen beamed as they watched the show from the Royal box.
Even Kate Middleton, who is formally Catherine Duchess of Cambridge, was seen smiling and waving her flag along to the song.
