Reason: The Pakistani government blocked Facebook after cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad surfaced on the social networking website.
In 2009 a petition, filed by a lawyers' group called the Islamic Lawyers' Movement, said the images, part of an online contest set up by a user, was "blasphemous". The images sparked a major protest in Pakistan and the site remained blocked for two weeks until 31 May, despite the images not being removed. Officials said the ban was only temporary.
