'Praying those babies wait for daddy': Nick Cannon's frantic flight home to heavily pregnant wife Mariah

Nick Cannon has sparked fresh speculation that his wife Mariah Carey could be about to give birth.
The TV host tweeted a message around two hours ago saying that he was on a flight back to New York and that he was 'praying' their unborn twins waited for daddy before they 'pop out'.
Nick was pictured at Los Angeles LAX Airport yesterday making his way back to the Big Apple.

It comes just days after Mariah had a false alarm when she was rushed to hospital with contractions.

grandchild: Action to end the heartbreak of relatives cut off when their children divorce

Grandparents are to be given legal rights to maintain contact with their grandchildren after a family breakdown or divorce.

A report will today set out radical proposals to enshrine in law greater access rights for grandparents when couples split, Whitehall sources revealed.
The review of the family justice system will also mean couples being pushed into mediation to sort out contact arrangements rather than resorting to the courts.
Important: Ministers say it is a scandal there is 'little or no' recognition of the vital role grandparents play in society
Important: Ministers say it is a scandal there is 'little or no' recognition of the vital role grandparents play in society
It is expected to reject calls for guaranteed equal access to children for separating mothers and fathers, effectively leaving the presumption of custody with mothers.
The report, by former civil servant and businessman David Norgrove, will herald the biggest shake-up in family law for decades.
Ministers say it is a scandal there is ‘little or no’ recognition of the vital role grandparents play in society.

Research suggests they are increasingly relied upon by parents for help with childcare and family finances, and by older children for advice and support that they may not get from their parents. But currently, they have no rights to maintain contact with grandchildren after a parental split.
Almost half face the heartbreak of being cut off completely and never see their grandchildren again after a break-up, with those whose sons are involved in a separation faring worst.

The Children Act 1989 gave step-parents who have lived as part of a family for three years the right to apply for contact, but did not extend the same right to grandparents.
That means grandparents have to apply to the courts even to be given permission to make a request for some sort of contact, a lengthy and expensive process.
But today’s report will recommend enshrining in law greater rights to access when couples separate.
‘It will mean putting into law a recognition for grandparents and the important role they can play in supporting children who are involved in bitter custody disputes,’ said one source close to the reforms.
‘If they are denied access to their grandchildren who goes off with one parent, they should be able to appeal against that and take it to court.
‘It is a new legal right recognising that they should be able to maintain contact with their grandchildren.’
A new right for grandparents to apply for contact may raise concerns that access agreements will become over-complicated – for instance, if a mother has to agree to maintain contact with both an ex-husband and his parents.
But courts are expected to be allowed to continue to decide what is in a child’s best interests.
The plan will be welcomed by campaigners for grandparents’ rights, who have been arguing for years that their role in creating strong families should be better recognised.
The source said ministers would also consider giving grandparents greater custody rights if their grandchildren are being threatened by local councils with being fostered or taken into care.

In one recent controversial case, social workers decided to re-home two children with a gay couple after their mother’s parents were deemed ‘too old’ to look after them.
City of Edinburgh Council acted despite the fact the grandparents had been caring for the boy and girl while their own daughter battled a heroin addiction.
The move sparked a backlash from the public, politicians and church leaders, who accused social work bosses of ‘politically correct’ posturing.
Grandparents provide over 40 per cent of childcare for parents who are at work or studying and over 70 per cent of childcare at other times. The contribution that grandparents make would cost parents an estimated £3.9billion a year.
Help: The report is also expected to propose greater support for separating parents to enable them to manage conflict between themselves and to agree and maintain enduring contact arrangements
Help: The report is also expected to propose greater support for separating parents to enable them to manage conflict between themselves and to agree and maintain enduring contact arrangements
Research by HSBC found that 16 per cent of grandparents in their sixties and one third of grandparents in their seventies also provide financial support to grandchildren.
And some 27 per cent of children aged 11 to 16 say they can share things with grandparents which they cannot talk to their parents about, rising to 35 per cent for their maternal grandmother.
Research also suggests a strong link between involvement of grandparents and wellbeing of children, teenagers in particular.
Today’s report is also expected to propose greater support for separating parents to enable them to manage conflict between themselves and to agree and maintain enduring contact arrangements.
This will require a significant shift away from adversarial court cases towards ‘non-legal interventions’ such as attendance at a Separated Parenting Information Programme – a course that helps separating parents understand what effect the process has on their children and how to proceed more effectively – or use of mediation.
The report is also expected to reject the idea of a new legal presumption of a child spending near equal amounts of time with each parent after separation.
A spokesman for single-parent charity Gingerbread said: ‘Our members tell us that court proceedings are long, difficult and expensive.
‘The majority of parents will do their best to avoid going to court but often struggle to know where to go for help and information about alternatives. This will require significant financial investment to ensure services are available throughout the country.’
The rights of grandchildren were not historically dealt with in law because divorce was relatively rare.
But the rise of family breakdown in recent decades means that access rights – for parents and grandparents – have become a pressing social issue.
It is thought that the rights for grandparents would apply both after a divorce – following marriage – and a separation where an unmarried couple have been co-habiting.

Sucker Punch star Vanessa Hudgens is slinky and see-through at film's premiere, while her co-stars break into dance

Their film has had an underwhelming reception by critics, so what are girls to do? Dance.
The stars of Sucker Punch shrugged off their bad reviews to have some fun on the red carpet at the London premiere tonight in Leicester Square.
While Vanessa Hudgens and Abbie Cornish looked on nervously in their glamorous gowns, their carefree co-stars Emily Browning, Jamie Chung and Jena Malone burst into an impromptu boogie.

The colourful group dazzled as they posed together on the red carpet, and didn't let the damp evening wet their spirits as they giggled like schoolgirls together.
High School Musical star Vanessa, 22, went for all-out glamour in a floor-length white gown by Alberta Ferretti.

Vanessa wore her hair up to show off the backless dress to its full advantage, and displayed her new butterfly neck tattoo.
Abbie Cornish, 28, also chose Alberta Ferretti in a coffee-coloured long dress with lace overlay and dazzled in £175,000 worth of Cartier jewels.

Jamie Chung stood out in a flirty hot pink Dolce & Gabbana dress and black peep-toe heels.
The film's star, Australian actress Emily Browning, wore a 1920s style Azzaro dress, while entourage star Carla Cugino wore a bright blue Oscar de la Renta frock.
Jena Malone, best known for her roles in Stepmom and Donnie Darko, wore an interesting printed dress with slashes at the neck and hip by Juan Carlos Obando.
The film has been widely panned by critics, with Time Out calling the Zack Snyder-directed fantasy thriller 'confusing and self-defeating.'

Nevertheless the film's stars say they had a ball filming it, despite being forced to undergo rigorous workouts involving military and martial arts training and strict diets, in order to complete the action sequences in their tiny corsets and leotards.
But Emily Browning, who became a household name in Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events says the girls unwound together with a weekly 'cheat night' from their diets and fitness regime.
'Wednesday nights we would all go out and eat cakes together, or just have a cheat night and get together,' she said on the red carpet tonight. 'But we were hanging out all the time and we would have sing-a-longs. It was lots of fun.'

Abbie Cornish appeared on U.S. TV show, Jimmy Kimmel Live last week to promote the film and described how she was shooting an action scene when a fellow star came at her with a WW1 rifle with a steel bayonet on the end.
'I ducked it but the timing was off and this steel bayonet comes at my head it hits me on the side of the head,' she said.

Back to the drawing board Nicki: Miss Minaj hits bum note as she steps out in unflattering leather leotard.

Miss FB Lyimo say; kudadadeki hii ni nomaa"

We are used to seeing her step out in figure hugging leotards, colour-clashing corsets and mismatching ensembles so when Nicki Minaj arrived at an event in New York last night it appeared she had opted to play it safe with a plain all-black black outfit.
But upon closer inspection it became clear she was dressed in one of her more bizarre and highly-unflattering ensembles to date.
The 26-year-old rapper arrived at the Green Auction event held at the Rockefeller Centre in New York last night in a tight black leather cat suit with black leggings and heeled boots.
Subtle style? Nicki Minaj appeared to be dressed in an understated style as she arrived at the Christie's Green Auction but the view from the back hit a bum note

Nicki’s appearance from the front was quite understated for the American singing star – despite the blonde and green wig and bright pink lips – and the leotard showed off her tiny waist and her enviable cleavage to perfection.
But while the view from the front was aesthetically pleasing from the back it was a very different style story and the high legged leotard did nothing to flatter her plentiful derriere.
In fact  it was apparent  the leotard was extremely ill fitting around her bottom and her back.
But badly fitting clothing didn’t stop Nicki from taking to the stage to perform at the Christie’s Green Auction: Bid to Save The Earth event in New York.
Not your best look: Nicki's leotard may have looked good from the front but as she turned round it was ill-fitting across her voluptuous bottom

The singer is no stranger to flaunting her fabulous curves in tight outfits and the night before she treated L’il Wayne and his fans to a lap dance as part of the rapper’s I Am Music tour at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Nicki was dressed in a white and pink futuristic lycra catsuit as she performed on stage before gyrating on top of a lucky man was sat in a chair and appeared to be enjoying the view.

Minaj, who is no stranger to stealing the spotlight is the latest star to be considered as an X Factor judge.
According to reports she has recently been in secret talks with Cowell.
Minaj met with the mega mogul recently in Los Angeles, where they discussed the possibility of the singer joining the panel.

'Simon thinks Nicki is fantastic. She's sassy, she looks great and she has bags of personality,' a source told the New York Post.
'Nicki has a large following and she fits well with the ethos of the show, which plans to usher in a new generation of musical talent.
'This isn't a done deal yet, but Nicki would be great for the show. She fits the ideal that 'X Factor' will be exciting, vibrant and different. And the show would also be great for her career."
Reps for Cowell have said the rumours are 'early speculation' while Minaj's have made no comment.

Girl, 5, in critical condition after being shot and injured by gunman 'firing indiscriminately' in a London street.MISS FB LYIMO .SAY. SO SO SAD.WHY ??

  • Man in his 30s also hurt in 9.15pm attack
  • Police say injured pair are not related
  • Gunman on bicycle targeted two youths hiding in shop
A five-year-old is in a critical condition after being gunned down in a London street.
Police believe that the young girl and a shopkeeper were caught in the crossfire of a gang targeting two youths who sheltered in their shop.
The shopkeeper, 35, is also being treated in hospital after he was hit inside Stockwell Food & Wine shop, on Stockwell Road, South London, at 9.15pm last night.
Both of the victims are understood to be Sri Lankan, but they are not related. The young girl was shot in the chest and the man was shot in the face.

Police guard: The street remained closed this morning
Police guard: The street remained closed today. Detectives believe the child and man were caught in the crossfire of a gang targeting two youths who had sheltered in The Stockwell Food & Wine store
The parade of shops was cordoned off today and five police cars were parked outside.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: 'It is believed two black youths ran into the shop shortly before the shots were fired.
'The youths had been chased from Broomgrove Road, across Stockwell Road, and into the shop by three other black youths on bicycles.
'Once the youths on bikes were outside the shop, one of them fired shots into the shop front.'
The pair - who police said are not related - were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Detectives are continuing their hunt for the gunman.
Sandra Rossetto, 45, said the child was awake as ambulance crew tried to stabilise her. She said: 'One of the paramedics was stroking her forehead over and over. She was awake.
'They were pushing on her chest for about 10 minutes trying to stop the bleeding. There were a lot of people so they put up two red blankets either side to shield her.

'The other person was on the floor being treated. There was a lot of blood, you could tell it was serious.'
Gloria Richards, whose flat overlooks the shop, said: 'It's madness. It could have been my granddaughter. I do hope they catch them.
'I looked over my balcony last night and saw police, forensics, ambulances, everything. They had red screens up so you couldn't see. The police were in the shop all night.'
Mareh Silva, 34, was coming out of the convenience store with friends at around 9pm and said she saw three black youths aged between 14 and 17 drop their bikes outside.
She said the boys' faces were covered with black scarves and balaclavas and she could only see their eyes as they ran into the shop.
'I looked in and saw a lot of blood on the floor but I didn't want to look at what had happened and I was very scared,' she said.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Boughton said: 'This is a terrible incident where an innocent child has been seriously injured.
'We want to hear from the local community, who might have seen these youths cycling around the estate between 9pm and 10pm
'I appeal to those who have information or were involved in this shooting to come forward and assist us with this investigation.
'These criminals have seriously injured two innocent bystanders and must face the consequences of their actions.'
Peter Robbins, one of three Lambeth councillors who represent the area, said local people were numbed by the incident.
'It is incredibly shocking, I think the whole community at the moment is numb and horrified, and rightly so,' he said.
'There is a fairly well-known problem with gangs and guns in Lambeth, it is something that the council and the police are working together incredibly hard to solve.
Shocking: Police were called to Stockwell Road in south London where they found the injured girl
An orange blanket lies in the cordoned off area where the injured girl and man were found
'Obviously, there is always more you can do and incidents like this really bring that home.'
Barny Stutter, 45, co-owner of nearby Brixton Cycles, said shopkeepers belonged to 'a very tight community'.
'We had to go through the police tape to get in,' he said. 'We are absolutely disgusted with what's happened. The truth is the gunman's probably about 15 with a mentality of about five.
'I am sure they will be caught but it is disgusting. This area has recovered from a bad reputation built up in the media but we love to live and work in the community.'
Mr Stutter said workers in the area's fast food shops were regularly hassled by yobs.
Witnesses or anyone with any information is being urged to call police on 0300 123 1212 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Amber Rose leaves nothing to the imagination in her skin-tight dress.

Miss FB Lyimo say: wawashie tochi dada,, kaka zetu wanahitaji kuona" mbuta nanga!

She's been complaining about the cold in New York as temperatures hover just above freezing.
So you'd think perhaps model Amber Rose would want to wear a few more clothes as she ventured outside yesterday.
Kanye West's ex-girlfriend, 27, left little to the imagination as she ran errands in Manhattan wearing a skin-tight pink dress.
Va-va voom: Model Amber Rose shows off her curves in all their glory as she rand errands in Manhattan yesterday

In fact the dress was so tight, the outline of her pierced nipples were clearly visible through the sheer Lycra.
In the figure-hugging pink creation, there was no missing Rose's 36-28-38 curves.
Even though Rose has been Tweeting about New York's chilly temperatures, perhaps she was showcasing her figure in a bid to win another modelling deal.
Rose and the Ford Models Agency parted ways last month after nearly two years representing her.

But she denied she had been dropped by the agency, insisting her contract came to a natural end.
Although she is now representing by entertainment agency CAA, she is yet to score another modelling contract.
She Tweeted: 'I did NOT get dropped from Ford Models my contract was up. Now I’m with CAA. Don’t believe everything you read.'
On Monday, she admitted she was struggling to cope with New York's prolonged winter temperatures: 'Buuur its cold as hell in NYC. Snuggling in the bed watching How to Catch a Predator.'
Rose is currently dating hip-hop star Wiz Khalifa, real name Cameron Jibril Thomaz, who she met in January.

Last week, Rose spoke out against rumours linking her to various rappers, insisting she's only ever dated Kanye West and current boyfriend Wiz Khalifa.
She said: 'I was with my ex for two years and now I have a new Love. [Two People] that's it. If that makes me a wh**e, then so be it.
'I have NEVER slept with Fabolous, Drake, Chris Brown, Amare, Lebron, Cassidy etc nor have I ever been a prostitute.'

She is constantly pushing boundaries with her raunchy dance moves, sexually-charged lyrics and racy costumes.
And it turns out, Rihanna's risqué antics aren't just for show.
The singer has told how she is 'a bit masochistic' in the bedroom in a revealing new interview.

Andrew was 'terribly spoilt' and Charles 'so very sweet': The Queen's touching handwritten letters about her sons

Miss FB Lyimo say: this is why i love phots.just take a look at the boys ..then" and today"

The mother may have been the Queen and her son the heir to the throne, but the pride is that of any first time parent.
In a handwritten letter sent two weeks after the birth of Prince Charles in 1948, Queen Elizabeth II shows rare emotion, describing her new arrival as 'very sweet'.
The letter, addressed to her second cousin, Lady Mary Cambridge, is one of two being sold at auction this Saturday.

The second, written in 1960 to the same recipient, details the arrival of 'adorable' Prince Andrew.
The birth of Charles, a future king, shortly after the end of the Second World War was a great boost for the country.

And the monarch herself was clearly delighted, but stated: 'I had no idea that one could be kept so busy in bed - there seems to be something happening all the time!'
So happy: It is rare for the Queen to show emotion in public, making the letters all the more revealing

'The baby is very sweet, and Philip and I are enormously proud of him. I still find it hard to believe that I really have a baby of my own!'
The Queen stated she was also grateful that she had a nanny, adding that they were 'so difficult to find nowadays!'
She also thanked her second cousin - who was bridesmaid at her wedding to Prince Philip in 1947 - for her 'letter of congratulations and lovely present.'
The letter is signed 'Lillibet', the name she was called by her close family, and dated December 1, 1948, just two weeks after giving birth at Buckingham Palace.
The letter is now being sold at auction along with another from the Queen to the same recipient following the birth of Prince Andrew in 1960.
Of her second son the Queen wrote: 'The baby is adorable, and is very good, and putting on weight well.
'Both the older children are completely riveted by him, and all in all, he's going to be terribly spoilt by all of us, I'm sure!'
Richard Davie, from International Autograph Auctions, is selling the letters that have been consigned for auction by private collectors.
He said: 'Rarely does the Queen convey such emotion to the population so it is fascinating to read about her feelings.
'It is especially interesting to hear her write about her children and how proud she was.
'Prince Charles is described as "sweet" and Prince Andrew is "adorable".
'The birth of Prince Charles was of course hugely important in the context of the future of the monarchy.
'But his arrival prompts the same maternal reaction in the Queen as with any other new mum.'
The Prince Charles letter is expected to make up to £1,200 and the Prince Andrew letter £800 when they go under the hammer this Saturday.
With the Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton coming up there is a renewed interest in Royal memorabilia.

Ed Miliband to marry long-term partner Justine Thornton - but David won't be best man.

In the Commons, there has been little evidence of a thawing in relations between the Miliband brothers.
And away from politics, their relationship appears to remain just as strained.
Labour leader Ed today announced he will marry his long-term partner in May - but his brother David will not be his best man.

Mr Miliband says it is the 'right time' for the couple to tie the knot
The younger Miliband, who performed the role at David's wedding 13 years ago, says he has decided against having a best man for the ceremony on May 27.
The move came after speculation that he was struggling to decide whether to ask David to take part because of ongoing tensions in the wake of the leadership contest.
Ed pulled off one of the biggest upsets in modern political history to beat his older brother to the top job, thanks to greater support from the unions.

Friends of the Labour leader had suggested he risked being humiliated if he asked his brother to be best man and was turned down.
But there were also fears that if David accepted, he could poke fun at the groom as is customary in the best man's speech.
Ed, 41, speaking outside his home today, insisted David was 'delighted' at the news and that he had been the first person he called after his mother.

The younger Miliband had been under pressure to marry Justine, a barrister and the mother of his two young sons, since winning the leadership last autumn.
In doing so, he became the first leader of a major political party to live with his family out of wedlock.

MARRIAGE LEVELS FALL

Marriage levels have fallen to their lowest level since 1895, according to new figures.
The provisional number registered in England and Wales in 2009 was 231,490.
Across the UK, the provisional level is 266,950 - almost half the peak figure of 480,285 in 1972.
In Scotland, levels are down 4.8 per cent on 2008 and 6.8 per cent lower in Northern Ireland.
For England and Wales, the number of unmarried adults rose producing the lowest marriage rates since they were first calculated in 1962.
The provisional marriage rate for men aged 16 and over was 21.3 per 1,000, down from 22 in 2008. For women, it was 19.2 - down from 19.9.
His family set-up also came under scrutiny when it emerged his name was not on the birth certificate of his eldest son, Daniel.
The leader claimed he had been so busy he forgot. The couple had a second son, Samuel, in November.
Ed had previously insisted he was 'too busy' to get married but now says it is the 'right time' for the couple to tie the knot.
They are to have a 'small ceremony' at Langar Hall hotel near Nottingham, close to where Miss Thornton grew up and a favourite with designer Paul Smith and Cliff Richard.
His brother David and his wife Louise will be among around 50 guests at the wedding and Ed said there might be a 'low key' stag night beforehand.
They will then have a larger party in Doncaster, his constituency, after returning from honeymoon.
A daytime wedding for around 50 people at the hotel, which also hosted the marriages of actress Sarah Lancashire and footballer Michael Dawson, will cost the couple around £5,000.
Langar's regular wedding planner Pascal Bouyssounouse - dubbed Mr Cupid - will be taking charge.
'This is going to be a fantastic day for us both and I feel incredibly privileged to be marrying someone so beautiful and who is such a special person,' Ed said.
'It's the right time for us to do this and I'm really looking forward to a lovely day. We're going to have a party in Doncaster when we get back from honeymoon - which will be in an undisclosed location.
'At the end of the day we're in our 40s and we've got two kids - so it wasn't a case of me suddenly popping the question. This is just something we think is right for us.'

His wife-to-be, an environmental lawyer, added: 'Ed wasn't even an MP when I met him and at the end of the day I am marrying him because of who he is and not because of what he's doing now.
'We're planning on a small ceremony, all at the hotel with everything at the same place and we're looking forward to it very much.'
David Cameron offered his congratulations when he faced the Opposition leader across the Commons chamber at question time.
'On behalf of everyone in the House I can congratulate you and Justine on the happy news of your forthcoming wedding and, I am sure with everyone, to wish you a long and happy life together,' the Prime Minister said.
Unable to resist a dig at his adversary, he added: 'When I was leader of the opposition, I would have done anything to have a honeymoon. He probably feels the same way.'
Mr Miliband was teased about his marital status in an interview with Piers Morgan earlier this year and insisted he would only marry at the right time for him.
'The more people who challenge me on it from a political standpoint, the more resistant I will become,' he said.
'We'll get married because we want to get married and love each other very much, no other reason.
'Marriage is a good institution and part of having stable families, but there are also people in unmarried relationships with stable families. I don't think politicians should order people to get married.'
