'I've lost 63 pounds in two years!' Grammy award winner Jill Scott reveals weight loss secrets

Grammy award winning singer and actress Jill Scott is well known for her curvy figure

But over the last two years, the 39-year-old star has become a shadow of her former self - quite literally.

The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency actress and soul singer has revealed she lost 63 pounds (4.5 stone), and showed off her svelte frame at last Sunday's BET awards.

The singer tells Us Weekly that she decided to embrace a healthy diet and fitness regime after giving birth to her son Jett back in 2009.
'There's a world of discovery in his eyes, and I want to be around to enjoy it,' she says.
Jett is Jill's first child by her ex boyfriend drummer Lil' John Roberts who she split with a few months after giving birth.

The star has attributed her weight loss to a healthy lifestyle consisting of three low fat meals a day, and three 60 minute cardio and strength training sessions three times a week.
"I'd walk up nine steps and be out of breath!" reminisces the 5-foot-6 star in the new issue of Us Weekly, out now. Scott, (whose new album, The Light of the Sun, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 this week), weighed 263 pounds pre-slim down. "But I'll never be a stick figure."
Her healthy lifestyle now consists of three low-fat meals and two snacks per day in addition to 60-minute cardio and strength-training sessions three times a week with L.A. pro Scott Parker.
"We have fun!" she says about their routine of kickboxing, boxing, and her favorite -- biking outdoors, which she brings Jett along for.
