Well-heeled parent: Elle Macpherson does the school run wearing sky-high Christian Louboutin heels (but she can't wait to take them off as soon as she sits down!)
We're used to seeing Elle Macpherson looking dazzling at all times - even when she drops her children off at school.
But the model's latest choice of outfit for the school run on Monday wasn't the most practical one she could have chosen.
The 47-year-old opted for a pair of sky-high £650 Christian Louboutin 'Lucifer Bow' heels for the job - which certainly added a touch of glamour to her outfit.
However, she was certainly quick to take them off later in the afternoon when she filmed scenes for the new series of Britain's Next Top Model.
Too cool for school? Elle MacPherson wore a pair of black studded Louboutins for the school run
Elle was photographed taking her shoes off and rubbing her sore feet as shooting took place at a London beauty salon.
The black and silver studded shoes - which had the designer's trademark red soles - would normally look more at home on a red carpet than at the gates of a West London school on a Monday morning.
But if the shoes weren't so practical, the rest of the outfit seemed more in keeping with a casual trip to the school.

My poor feet: Elle breathed a sigh of relief as she took off the heels and rubbed her feet where they hurt
Elle teamed the heels with a pair of grey skinny jeans and matching sweater, as well as a large grey handbag.
The model and entrepreneur's two sons Arpad Flynn, 13, and Aurelius Cy, eight, both attend the same school as the children of Claudia Schiffer and Stella McCartney.
Elle recently returned from a trip to her native Australia, where she modelled Virgin Blue’s latest airline uniform on the catwalk in her home town of Sydney.

But Elle had to fight back her tears while speaking at the show, saying: ‘Actually I’m gonna get a bit emotional. I’m really happy to be back and to see them [my family], particularly my dad, who’s unwell.’
The model’s father, Peter Gow, had surgery two weeks ago to treat his prostate cancer but has been given the all-clear following the operation.
