Janet Jackson appears to be following in the pumped-up footsteps of the likes of Cameron Diaz, Madonna and Paris Hilton if her bulging biceps onstage in Los Angeles last night are anything to go by.
The 44-year-old looked like she'd been doing some serious working out as she played live at the city's Gibson Amphitheatre in a tight white vest and jeans.
The Control star is currently promoting her Numbers Ones best of album with her current Up Close And Personal tour, which Janet describes as her largest ever.

In shape: The star, who has famously battled her weight over the years, looked fit and healthy 

Playing 35 dates around the world, it kicked off in February and features three dates at London's Royal Albert Hall on June 30, July 2 and July 3, and finishes back in the U.S. in August. 

Janet meanwhile is still promoting her book True You, which focuses on her self-image and self-esteem struggles.
The singer has long suffered yo-yoing weight, and though perhaps a few pounds heavier now than when she was in her 20s, she looks incredibly toned.

The star was as much as 60lb heavier just four years ago.
Talking to Piers Morgan on his U.S. chatshow last month, she explained: 'There was a time when I was so down and felt so unattractive and it lasted for a very, very long time. I used to bang my head against the wall.
'The person that I was with, my ex-husband at the time, I mean, he'd have to stop me,' she added.

She also discussed her famous older brother Michael Jackson, calling him 'very sweet, very gentle, incredibly smart, always about love.
'He knew who he was,' she said.
Meanwhile, the star is apparently soon to announce more North American dates as part of the tour due to popular demand.
