It looks as though history is about to repeat itself as Maria Sharapova has made it through to the Wimbledon final.
Playing against German Sabine Lisicki, Maria gave it all on court as she thrashed her shell-shocked opponent 6-4, 6-3.
The Russian-born player has been causing a stir over the last few days grunting her way to the semi-final on Tuesday and will play Petra Kvitova on Saturday.
The sportswoman, who was named the world's highest-paid female athlete by Forbes, renewed her contract with Nike last January, signing an eight year deal for a record $70million.
Maria was cheered on by her fiance, Slovenian celebrity basketball player Sasha Vujacic, the 6ft 7in New Jersey Nets shooting guard.
The 24-year-old also had the support of tennis fan and Vogue U.S editrice Anna Wintour.
Maria is back on top form after being crowned Wimbledon champion in 2004, aged 17, and the No 5 seed is hot favourite to win the title again.
Saturday's match will be her first Grand Slam final since 2008.
Since her victory, she went on went on to win the US and Australian Open.
Of her win on Tuesday, she said: 'Last year I lost in the fourth round to Serena and this year I find myself in the quarter-finals and I'm giving myself an opportunity to go even further so I'm quite happy about that
'I have to be a little realistic about the fact that I haven't gotten past the fourth round in a few years. This is a step forward.'
