She adores his clothes with a fervent passion. But tonight Anne Hathaway arrived at a lavish ball for Paris Fashion Week with celebrated designer Valentino on her arm, and risked polluting the wintry palette of her ensemble with his ever-present tan.
Her porcelain skin perfectly complemented the magical white theme of the Fairy Love Ball, rendering her quite the snow queen but Valentino's virulent teak hide seemed incongruous.

The actress looked ethereal thanks to the veteran designer's magical touch, but his orange skin looked pure eurotrash, amidst the icy grandeur of the opulent ball.
The 28-year-old actress is a firm friend of the Italian, 79 , and donned his gowns for both the Oscars and the Met Ball earlier this year, so is quite used to his vivid hue.
She was also by his side when he launched his film, The Emperor, in Los Angeles.
And earlier today, she even departed from her fresh-faced girl next door image to experiment with one of his racier designs.

But Anne looked delighted with her dress as she made her way in to the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild for the Valentino Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2011/12 show.
Later in the day Anne changed into a white knee-length dress, which was also sheer, as she and boyfriend Adam Shulman stepped out in the French capital.
The actress looked equally as good in the white outfit, which she paired with a pair of bright orange heels.
But Shulman was replaced by Valentino by the time the actress made her third - and most extravagant - costume change.

The designer matched his dinner jacket to the stunning ivory and silver gown with enchanted-style tendrils, that Hathaway had opted to wear.
She completed the look with princess-style waves, crowned with a garland made of crystal flowers with matching cuff and ring, set off with deep red lipstick.
In a recent interview, Anne expressed her delight that she is able to wear such outfits.
She told Harper's Bazaar magazine: 'I feel like the luckiest girl in the world when I get to wear all theses glamorous clothes.
'I've become a lot more specific about what I love and why I'm doing it. I got to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I wore beautiful clothes.'
Anne looked incredibly happy as she and Adam strolled along the Parisian streets.

And the actress spoke about her relationship with actor Adam in an interview for the November issue of Vogue, admitting that ‘things sped up’ once she and Adam made their relationship official.

'He thought that I had a boyfriend and I thought that he had a girlfriend, so I thought that I’d better keep my distance because I didn’t want to be that girl.'
Anne can next be seen starring as Emma Morley in hotly-anticipated One Day alongside Jim Sturgess, and is currently filming new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises, in which she will star as Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman.
A source told Hollywoodlife.com of Anne's Catwoman costume: 'Anne's outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman movies.
'She will definitely be wearing the goggles, and it's going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman costumes. She's going to look more like a robber.
