Slimmer star: Real Housewives of Atlanta's NeNe Leakes (pictured here on September 9 at the OK! party in New York) lost 20 pounds before her wedding''

She loves her new slimmed-down figure, but NeNe Leakes didn't ever plan to lose so much weight.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star dropped 20 pounds before her wedding in June, and revealed this week that she always liked being curvy.
'I only wanted to lose 5 or 10 pounds,' confessed the 45-year-old newlywed star of the Bravo spin-off, I Dream Of NeNe: The Wedding. 
'I like being a curvy girl. I tried to give up soda and not eat late at night. But I don’t avoid eating,' Leakes told Life & Style magazine.

'I’m not trying to starve myself. I love food.'
She went on to reveal that reading labels and analyzing calorie counts doesn't help her stay thin.
'I don’t count calories or carbs,' the Glee actress told the US magazine. 'Counting doesn’t get me anywhere. I do portion control when trying to lose weight. Eat less, move more.'

A mother-of-two and grandmother of 16-month-old Bri’asia, NeNe exercises lightly but burns off plenty of excess calories chasing after the toddler.
'I feel so much lighter,' she said. 'Like I’m floating!'
Luckily her new husband is very familiar with her family, as he is Gregg Leakes - the same man she married in 1997 and is the father of her youngest son, Brentt.

The couple separated in season three of Real Housewives in 2010 and their divorce became final in 2011.
However, they soon realised that they were better together than apart, and were happily reunited at the beginning of this year.
Despite committing to spending the rest of their lives together - again - Leakes wanted to make sure she was legally secure before walking down the aisle a second time so she got a prenup.
