Proving all of her early critics wrong, Victoria Beckham has doubled sales of her fashion business to £30.39million in just two years.
The 40-year-old mother-of-four, whose company was awarded Brand of the Year at the recent British Fashion Awards, reported sales of £15.76million in 2012.
And according to The Sun, Victoria Beckham Ltd made a £1.3million profit in 2013 -- selling £83,000 worth of stock (or 55 handbags priced at £1,500) per day.
The designer, who debuted her first collection of dresses at New York Fashion Week in 2008, has grown her business to include handbags, shoes, sunglasses, denim, a sister line titled Victoria, Victoria Beckham, and even a luxury nail polish collection in collaboration with Nails Inc.
The rising sales are thought to be thanks to her recently launched website, and her September store opening on Dover Street in Mayfair, London, where hundreds of fans waited in line for the doors to open.
The luxury boutique -- Mrs Beckhams's first foray into brick-and-mortar retail -- eschewed convention, embracing a minimalist look with no cash registers, no display window and no rails.
Speaking to MailOnline about the unique space shortly before its opening, she said: 'It’s the first time people can see the brand through my eyes.
‘I didn't want a traditional shop window, just a plain window, and a huge concrete sliding door.
‘The floors weren't connected, and I said, “Wouldn't it be incredible to drill a hole through all three floors, so you could stand on the top floor and see the ground floor.”'

'Five years ago, if you’d said that I’d have a store on Dover Street, I’d never have believed it,’ Mrs Beckham admits. 'I feel really really lucky'. With her prices ranging from £150 for a keyring to £2,000 for a dress and £1,000 for a pair of leggings, it is easy to see how the former Spice Girl can sell £83,000 worth of product each day.
To reflect the aspirational feel of her clothing line, Mrs Beckham explained: ‘We’re not going to have any ugly tills anywhere. Payment is with an iPad, so we can go to the customer on whatever floor she's on.'
The lower level will be dedicated to personal shopping, while the upper level houses the main Victoria Beckham collection -- and making husbands welcome wasa purposeful move on the part of Mrs Beckham.
'I've been very lucky in the past that David’s been shopping and bought me gifts,' she said. 'I want men to know that whether it’s for a birthday or Christmas, Valentine’s Day, whatever it might be, a guy can come here and select the right gift. That’s very important for me. I don’t want an intimidating environment. We’ve all been shopping and felt awkward. I don’t want that.'
After such a successful two years, Mrs Beckham still can’t quite believe how far she has come from that low-key New York presentation back in 2008.
'Five years ago, if you’d said that I’d have a store on Dover Street, I’d never have believed it,’ she admits. 'I feel really really lucky.'
