Courteney Cox might insist that she’s just good friends with her hunky co-star Josh Hopkins, but he seems happy to play the father figure to her daughter.

The Cougar Town friends have been holidaying on the Caribbean island of St Barts and Hopkins was having a great time with Coco in the surf.

Cox’s six-year-old daughter was practising some gymnastics in the water with the actor alongside her mother.

Coco, dressed in a rainbow-striped bikini, leapt into his hands to be lifted over his head before diving back into the ocean.

The trio played in the turquoise sea for hours before Coco accompanied Hopkins on to the sand to demolish some sandcastles.

The former Friends actress, 46, flaunted her fabulous figure in a tiny black string bikini, while 40-year-old Hopkins also showed off his toned torso in bright green swimming trunks.

Despite insisting their relationship is ‘strictly, strictly platonic’, Hopkins’ father recently told RadarOnline that his son is very fond of the actress.

Larry Hopkins, a U.S. Congressman, said: ‘I would approve of it. I know he likes her and is very fond of her.

‘He said she’s a very nice person… If he approves of her, then I approve of her.’

However, what looks like a romantic holiday is actually a group vacation, a source told US magazine.

The source said: ‘She’s close to her co-stars. She’s been like that since Friends. But there’s nothing more going on.'

Cox was also taking the opportunity to spend some quality time with Coco, her daughter with estranged husband David Arquette.

Swell bodies: Courteney and Josh are in great shape and are clearly both people who take good care of themselves

Cox and Arquette separated last year after more than a decade of marriage, but he remains hopeful that the pair will get back together. He told Oprah last month: ‘I know that I will be with her for my whole life.’

And speaking of Arquette, Cox said on Extra: ‘Oh my God, I’m so proud of him! (And he’s the) best he’s ever looked!

‘He’s so cute I’m like, dude, I don’t understand. Really? Why are you that cute right now?’

Despite not having sorted out their relationship status as yet, the two were pictured out shopping together last week and Cox revealed recently that she would have ‘huge waves of pain’ if their marriage did not survive.

The couple split after completing filming on their upcoming movie Scream 4, which is released on April 15.
