On December 13, 2011 the United States Ambassador to Tanzania Alfonso E. Lenhardt awarded USD 195,000 (approximately Tshs 320 Million) to 19 organizations, clinics and schools for self improvement projects as part of Community Grants Program. Financed by the American people through the U.S. State Department the program aims at providing direct assistance to innovative small community based projects.
